Awaken Inside was co-founded by Chris Jordan — a 28-year U.S. Navy Intelligence Officer — and Adam Rice, who served in the United States Marine Corps from 1999 to 2005. The gym they built reflects the values they lived in uniform.
In 2019, Chris and his family became a Gold Star family following the loss of their son, CTN2 Thomas Jordan. Awaken Inside is, in part, a continuation of that legacy — a place built on purpose, not profit.
Virginia Beach is one of the most military-dense communities in America, home to Oceana NAS, Dam Neck, and thousands of active duty and veteran families. This gym was built for this community.
